16 In Summer

Tropical Beach Style Table Scape

Hey there, I’m popping in real quick to show you this tropical beach style table scape from the other day. We had friends over and that was the perfect reason to set up a summer table!

I moved our outdoor dining table to the back terrace, because our front porch is just too hot, even with the sail covering part of it. I realized the other day, that we are basically never eating outside, because the front is where the sun hits at lunch time. Now I have to say, our outdoor table and chairs are bulky and they looked great in the front, because we had enough room there for everything. But what’s the point in having it there, if we never use it, even if it looks awesome? At night we don’t really do family dinners, just a sandwich or a salad and we also usually have it on our sofas outside on the back terrace…or…in front of the TV…ehem.

So, moving the dining room table to the back, was what had to be done. I took down the hammock and hung it up in the front, which is kind of cute too. Maybe I share it some time too. So our sofa is still in the same spot and behind it, on the other side, we have our dining table and chairs and we have lunch out there now every day! It’s glorious!

And that is where I set up this tropical beach style table scape for our friends.

I started with a simple black and white table linen. Good thing is, it can be used each season and just goes great with anything.

The place mats are my DIY shell printed napkins from the other day. They make cute place mats underneath my mint plates.

Adding shells and fern to the plates makes for a perfect tropical beach vibe. The big fern in the center is artificial but looks so real!

The bamboo candle lights were a great flea market find not too long ago and I love how they look!

Two knotted white ropes across the table for extra beach feel.

My daughters gave me the amazing coasters for Mother’s Day. They really know what I love!

And a scented candle is always a good idea on any table scape, right?? I found this one the other day for cheap and I bought it because of the beautiful green color, but it does smell amazing as well.

The little basket and white scallop shell go great with it!

Your tablescape has the perfect beachy vibe! Love the candle in the basket and the knotted rope. I can imagine the candle must smell divine just by reading the label…but, I can’t see the name of the maker. Thank-you!

Thanks Ellen. The candle was a great buy at Primark. I’m not sure if you have that store over where you’re at, it’s Irish.

Katrtin that is such a pretty table setting. So many ideas that make it beachy and put us in the mood for a seafood dinner, perhaps?
