Happy Monday and welcome back to the summer edition of Int’l Bloggers Club! I’m showing you a day of our Summer in Spain for Int’l Bloggers Club this month.
July is almost over, and summer is in full mode, so the members of our club [find out more about us here ] decided to have this month a summer activities theme. So fun, right? I can’t wait to see what Mary, Keri & Pili are up to this time of year and how they spend their summer! To find out, just click on their links below!!!
As for me, summer here in Spain is a relaxing time and a time to take it easy and enjoy the beach that I practically have as my backyard here. I am not a fan of the heat and believe me, it can get pretty hot here, so right by the ocean is the place to be! It’s either escape the heat and travel north or stay and keep cool by the sea.
So today I thought, I show you a day of our summer in Spain for Int’l Bloggers Club.
Summer in Spain for Int’l Bloggers Club
On Saturday morning there was a cool breeze going on, so we decided to go to Cadiz. We are about 20 minutes away from this beautiful and amazing city and go there many times. It is surrounded by sea and you can go by boat as well. Find out more about Cadiz here. If you ever make it to the South of Spain, well, come by my house, but also make sure to visit this stunning city, I promise you won’t be dissapointed!!
This is just one of many many beautiful sites to visit when in Cadiz, I could upload a lot more photos for you, but have to keep it short just to give you an idea. The sky is ALWAYS like this here, it’s something I love and even in the winter we get this blue sky which really makes me happy! So happy that I wish for cloudy and rainy days sometimes!
There was a little “mercado” [market] going on and one thing you will need to get here is an “abanico” ,a fan, to keep cool! There are lots of markets everywhere here during the summer months, and we love them!
After spending some time and money at the market we were off to our favourite place, a lovely coffee/bistro, to have a snack and something refreshing to drink! Here you find refreshments and places to sit outside everywhere it’s what people really enjoy and so do we!
We then headed to a beautiful park with lots of plants and shade, that is almost like an oasis and feels so cool and fresh!
After, we stopped at the beach to cool off …
And for the rest of the afternoon….siesta time!….enjoying my patio, my favourite spot, with a cool iced coffee just like on this photo… It’s from the other day but that’s pretty much my pose every time I end up here, lol!
At night, we met up with friends at a beach club and had dinner with a gorgeous view of the bay!
Wishing you a lovely summer and hope you stay cool if it’s hot where you are! Make sure to check out the other ladies’ summer activities and Thank you for stopping by here today!

31/07/2016 at 19:22Katrin, thank you so much for allowing me to travel to Spain and spend the day with you. I love seeing how others live, where they live, what their town is like and what they do on a daily basis. Your town is so quaint, the architecture and foliage is so pretty. I can see how a stroll through the town would be so much fun. I love the picture of you and the girls on the beach. You should blow that up and frame it. Maybe even in black and white!
I am always so inspired by you and loved feeling as if I was spending the day with you!
Katrin
01/08/2016 at 09:36Nikki, thank you for travelling and “visiting” me here in Spain 😉 ! We love to stroll around and enjoy the day, grab a coffee or drink and relax. My girls are old enough now, that they enjoy doing that with us and I love it! And then they get to go to the beach of course which is great too. I’m so happy I inspire you, that made my day! 🙂

Julia - Vintage with Laces
26/07/2016 at 10:31Thank you for the lovely tour, Katrin! I enjoyed it. What a shame that we didn’t visit Cadiz the one time we spent a vacation in the South of Spain. I don’t blame you for having a long siesta on your patio with an iced coffee. That’s my favorite afternoon drink as well. I love that blue/white/red skirt or dress you’re wearing. Stay cool! and have a great week! 🙂
Katrin
26/07/2016 at 14:07Hi Julia, Thank you, I’m happy you’ve enjoyed this little tour Julia! Sometimes, long siestas are all I can handle with the heat, lol, or the pool, but many times I’m even too lazy for that! The dress is really comfy and cool, perfect to hang out 😉
Michelle

26/07/2016 at 02:16Katrin- Summer in Spain looks like Paradise! Everything about Cadiz is amazing. Those trees are not like any I have ever seen and the waterfalls are gorgeous. I would love to spend time shopping and sipping coffee in this beautiful city. It’s beauty is only equaled by yours. Thank-you for this lovely tour and photos. I enjoyed this delightful post, as always!
Katrin
26/07/2016 at 14:03Thank you so much for your sweet compliment Ellen! 26/07/2016 at 00:00Summer in Spain looks amazing! My favorite photo is the collection of fans at the mercado–such great designs and colors. I wish I could be there now, enjoying a siesta on the beach!
Katrin
26/07/2016 at 14:01Thanks so much Brooke! The mercados are lovely here, many handcrafted goodies to find! 🙂
Marie, The Interior Frugalista
25/07/2016 at 20:45Another lucky gal living so close to beautiful beaches and outdoor cafes. I am so envious of your lifestyle compared to ours here in North American. Siestas…what’s that!! Thank you so much Katrin for the tour. Spain is on my bucket list and my husband’s company has an office in Spain so there is hope that one day I can accompany him on a business trip.
Katrin
26/07/2016 at 14:00Hi Marie! You know, I like the lifestyle here, very laid back, but I do miss Canada a lot too! It seems like everything is possible there and here we’re more limited. I guess the perfect spot doesn’t exist, hey? I’m happy you’ve enjoyed the photos!!Thanks for the visit!
Keri
25/07/2016 at 14:28Katrin, what a beautiful place Cadiz is!! Sitting in a cafe outside sipping iced coffee sounds amazing!! I bet the market is an awesome place to shop. The park looks so green and refreshing, what a beautiful place to take a walk!! Hanging out on or near the beach looks so amazing, especially with a beautiful sunset like that in the sky. Thanks for taking us on a summer day tour of Cadiz!!
Katrin
26/07/2016 at 08:34Thank you Keri, the markets here are really fun, lots of people sell handmade crafts and such, we do really enjoy the summer here!
Mary-the boondocks blog
25/07/2016 at 12:00What a beautiful city Katrin! There is much history about the old buildings. And who can resist a nice stroll and then sit at an outdoor cafe? Your park looks so inviting with all that lush greenery. But I think I would prefer your patio. Save a cup of coffee for me. I feel so at home in your country. All I need to do is learn the language.
Katrin
25/07/2016 at 22:46Mary Cadiz really is worth a trip you won’t regret! It has a lot to offer and is just so full of history! I’m happy we live so close to it. And yes, that spot on my couch is reserved for you! 🙂
Pili
25/07/2016 at 09:34Katrin your summer looks so fun! I visited Cadiz and other towns around it some years ago and I loved the places and the people. That park is amazing, so green and with water to keep you cool. I know it is too hot now, but it’s worth it to have a mild climate all year round. Keep enjoying your summer!
Katrin
25/07/2016 at 11:47Hi Pili! Yes, Cadiz is something else, it’s really my favourite city here where we are. I love escaping and wandering around the city, I’m not a big beach fan, but my girls are and of course we go often! It is nice to have a mild climate, although, until October it is still far from mild here…rather hot!!!
