Simple Valentine’s Wall Decor

You know, I promise, that I try hard to come up with something unique & different, something the world hasn’t seen yet. Ok…I know what you must be thinkin….keep tryin Katrin. yeah, I know, it’s impossible.

All the ideas out there are so genius and I think, why the heck did I not come up with that!?! Too often I look around Pinterest and I see things I love and want to try myself and then I change them up a bit here and there and use what I have and you know, what I like… so at the end it’s made by me, but really nothing new.

Like this simple Valentine’s wall decor. How many pretty ideas, Valentine’s or not, are out there?? Oh well… here’s one more. I made it the other day, and I like it and that’s why I want to share it here today.

I think this little craft pretty much explains itself, right? It’s quite cute don’t you think and so simple and easy. I used washi tape to tape the hearts onto the strings, it really doesn’t get easier than this!

If you like to save it for later, pin it!

    Hello Katrin!
I really love your hanging hearts for Valentine’s Day!!! Years ago I used to use eucalyptus branches when hanging things all the time at my home on Camp Pendleton, CA, when my husband was in the US Marine Corps. Very versatile! Anyway, I think your hanging hearts are unique and beautiful!!! Happily pinning to my Holidays and Crafts to Make boards on Pinterest for you. <3 Plus, I love the German paper background. Ich kann mein Deutsch lesen üben! Bad, I know… 😉

Hi Katrin…this is such a simple, yet so very lovely project. Is Valentine’s day a ‘thing’ in Spain? Even if it’s not, it’s always a good thing to celebrate love…am I right?

Hope you are enjoying a wonderful weekend.

    Hugs, Lynn

Beautiful Katrin! Do you know though, when you say it’s been done before, etc. When I’m scrolling through Pinterest, I KNOW at a glance when something is yours; out of hundreds!! You have your own style that you’ve harnessed and I don’t know what’s better than looking at something and just knowing it belongs to you. Pinning & sharing!

Hi Katrin: I think you banner is sweet and it has Katrin’s flare to it. Hanging it from a branch and trailing the hearts downwards is You.

    Very pretty.

This is adorable, I love decor made from book pages, this is especially cute with the roses. I don’t usually decorate for Valentine’s day, but this looks like a quick project that would look great too. You’ve accomplished the goal of adorable, stylish and unique! I love it.

Thanks Nikki! I don’t do much for V-day either…but because this was so easy…why not right?? And it could stay up a bit longer too!

Katrin this project combines all my favorite elements. Book pages, string, the branch. All there. The addition of the dainty flowers gives it a festive springtime look that can really be extended beyond Valentine’s day!

Katrin, i think this is beautiful! What a great way to decorate for Valentine’s Day. I like that you attached it to a branch, so fun! It would actually be nice as an all year round deco.

Simple and sweet! I like being able to see the printing on the larger hearts, are they from book pages? You see, I’m not quite as clever as those people on Pinterest. You, however, are very kreative and must add much to Pinterest. Sometimes a little tweaking can add so much and that is only a small part of your talent. I agree with Michelle- well said! Thank-you for another lovely post, as always. P.S. My real rosemary heart came out quite nicely, even 3 yr. old Benjamin agreed!

      02/02/2017 at 07:11

Thank you so much Ellen! yes, the larger hearts are from bookpages. I’m so happy that you made a rosemary heart, and how fun that Benjamin also loved it, I bet he loves it so much spending time with you! Have a great day!

That’s beautiful Katrin. You always add your unique lady-like touch to everything you do and that’s what makes it so unique and gorgeous. My Ouma told me a loooong time ago that here are only two knitting stitches, plain and purl, but it’s how you combine them is what makes something special, and you definitely know how to combine them into something exceptional.

      01/02/2017 at 22:36

    Hello Katrin,
I know exactly how you feel! Every time I make something on my own (a “new” granny or pattern) I’m absolutely sure it must be out there somewhere already. Pinterest is a great source for ideas but sometimes I fear my subcontious might just have copied some of these ideas. Thus I never claim to come up with anything “new”.
Love your wall hanging! It looks so delicate and sweet.
    Have a lovely day,
