Simple Southern Fall Front Porch

I´m really excited to show you my simple southern fall front porch today! It might not be the kind of fall front porch you expected, or you´d imagine, when you think “Fall”. But it is my kind of front porch here where I live, in the South of Spain. Here, Fall is really just an extended Summer with some cooler temps at night and maybe some cloudy days here and there. Days are still very warm, sometimes hot, mostly sunny and only a few trees here actually change colours.

Simple Southern Fall Front Porch

So, this year, I decided to go with the flow here and accept it as it is. I´ve spend years missing the for me “real” Fall, you know, the northern kind, where you can cuddle up under blankets by now and enjoy a fire in the chimney.

Instead of real pumpkins, that are hard to find for me here, and would only last like three days in the heat anyways, I used terracotta pumpkins. I turned my pallet lounger into a plant stand for this season, it´s easy and clean.

Instead of mums, you´ll see my everlasting succulents, cacti and yucca plants, they make a great fall decor as well I think!

The blanket on my chair is for staging purposes only, maybe I could use it, if I had a late night glass of wine out here though! But it looks good, right?

Don´t you just love that pumpkin pillow? In case you´re interested, I´ve ordered a few from Lucy at Craftberry Bush and they just fit in with my decor and are so beautiful!

Well, I hope you enjoyed my little front porch area and wish you a happy Fall!!

Katrin, I’m impressed that you work with what you have, rather than stewing about what you don’t have. Your porch looks lovely and cool for your climate. You must surely have a green thumb!

Thank you Florence! OH I don´t have a green thumb at all, these plants are really hard to kill, so that´s why they are holding up fine with me, haha 🙂

Your front porch looks so lovely and relaxing Katrin. Our fall here in South Africa is also pretty “blah”. One day the trees will have leaves and the next they’ll be gone. The only pumpkins we can find are the ones that have already been cut for cooking, unless you go to a farmers market 😀

I love you style Katrin! Everything always looks so crisp and clean, with just he right amount of color. I have come to love the while pumpkins, and other soft colors over the bright orange colors. I love how you did your white wash pot to hold your succulents, and cactus. Your fall front porch is beautiful!

Thank you so much Linda! I cannot have real pumpkins out here, our bunnies are loving them a little too much, haha. So these have to do and they hold up nicely in the heat and sun that we still get here…

Beautifully done Katrin. This is the reality of my balcony too, except not as pretty as yours. All of your cacti are lovely. We sometimes sleep outside at night but lately it has been getting chilly so we can use that blanket.

Oh you´re so brave to sleep outside Mary, I wouldn´t dare…all those crawly creatures around here would sure keep me awake! Thanks friend 🙂
