Simple nordic Christmas tree

Today is the day I’m posting our simple nordic style Christmas tree y’all! I’m so excited! I really love how it turned out! Last Saturday we went out to get it, and I wanted it to be pretty small, but it actually didn’t end up being all that small…it’s quite chubby and so so beautiful! It might look cramped to you, if you’re not used to small spaces like our home, well… we do not have a huge living or dining room so we put it in the middle, kind of, between the TV and terrace door, since we won’t be going out that way during winter that much anyway. That way we can see it when we are all cozied up on the sofa and armchair! And you can actually see it as soon as you walk in the house which I really like! The house smells amazing, just like Christmas!

Ok, I won’t bore you with more words, lol, it’s that I’m so excited, so here it is:

The tree came with roots in a planter and originally I wanted to put it into one of my big white terracotta pots, but they ended up being too small and I didn’t feel like running out and getting a bigger one, so we just brought it in with the original pot and I wrapped a white table cloth around it added some strings and voila!

I made these wooden hearts really quick the other day, I had bought them and also found some really nice wrapping paper and glued it on them. And the rest of my ornaments are pretty simple, I bought a few simple stars in white, black and beige and some of these feathers I really liked as well.

Your nordic Christmas is so pretty. Simplistic without being simple. Love all the layers of white against the greenery. And I bet the house smells terrific. We haven’t had a real tree in years, our artificial tree is on it’s last legs, and although it’s easier to just put up the same tree each year I wish we had a real one. Yours is so cute, and I love the bundled root ball. Your decorations are perfect, what a wonderful Christmas for you and your family. Happy Holidays my friend!

Thank you Nikki, Happy Holidays to you too and I wanted to put up the one I had in store, but it is way too big, so this one will be planted afterwards… I like that too… Hugs!

The nordic look is lovely. I thing it is amazing that you bought a potted tree. The first thing I noticed was how pretty the tree skirt is wrapped around the trunk.

You decor style is fresh and quaint. It would be wonderful to come visit and check it all out.

Your Christmas tree looks beautiful and I think the size is just perfect for your living area, Katrin! The big star you have hanging at the window is very pretty too. Enjoy your lovely Christmas decorations, my friend!

Simply beautiful! The ornaments are all so sweet and I especially love the feather ornaments. Your tree is the perfect centerpiece for your Nordic theme. I love how you incorporated the deer head into the tree. One time I had to use a tablecloth for a tree skirt too. I had to use what was available on Christmas Eve and no one recognized it either. Thank-you for another lovely post. I have so enjoyed your Nordic Christmas this year.

Ellen thank you so much! The feather ornaments are my favourite too I think! I don’t know how that tablecloth will be afterwards, but it’s ok for now… Have a great week and thank you for stopping by!

It’s so lovely Katrin, and all the little ornaments you added suit the whole Nordic look so beautifully. will you be planting it outside when it gets warmer?

    • Katrin
      07/12/2016 at 23:03

Aw Thank you Michelle! I will plant it outside, yes, but the lady at the garden center told me that these kind of trees are not doing well in our kind of weather…. but I will give it a try anywayas!

    Dear Katrin,
I love your tree. Guess I could spend hours in front of it, a cup of tea in my hands and some Christmas music playing softly in the background – perfect!
    Have a great day,
