Simple nordic Christmas living room

Today I’d love to show you my simple nordic Christmas living room! It’s seriously so simple, it could almost last all winter, except for the tree of course. I must admit, that, at one point, I was tempted to get all the red decor out, but then I did really really want to go for this simple nordic Christmas look this year! So this is how it is now.

The only thing that could top my holiday mood right now would be if it started to snow, lol! Which sometimes, call me crazy, I wish would happen here in this evergreen-always-sunny-flourishing neck of the woods of mine. I enjoy it, but hey, one day of snow would be awesome…or two or three, why not! Well, to get my wintery fix, we’ll be travelling to a colder climate for a few days after Christmas Eve and I’m seriously looking forward to it!

Ok, be warned, a lot of photos coming up here!! Hope you enjoy!

I found those pillows at Ikea the other day and absolutely love them!

I added some greenery to my crate and basket wall above the sofa and I’m not sure, if you remember my wooden platesbut I changed them up a bit for the holidays. I found this really nice gift wrap and just cut out two circles smaller than the plates and glued it onto each plate using mod podge.

I had painted these chestnuts last year and still like them, so they got a spot on my little side table…

You can see more of that vignette and the watercolour deer I painted here

My lanterns, that I have restyled so many times and probably will keep on changing up, also made a reappearance for the holidays of course! I simply put two grey thick candles inside and added some pine branches… In front of them you can see some anis stars which I love because they smell so amazing and also some wood slices.

This is my favourite decor piece I think and so so so simple! I used a tin pot and put some pine branches in it as you can see, and found these super cute clips at one of my favourite dollar-store-like-stores here! It’s actually a Danish franchise and I have to stop myself from going there each week because unfortunately  fortunately, it is like a 10 minute drive from my work…

If you like it, pin it!

And that’s it for my simple nordic Christmas living room! Hope you liked the little tour!! I got a little challenge for you..lol, did you find the “mistake” in one of the photos?? Maybe you realized it right away… I only did, after I posted it, and I decided to just leave it as it is. In one of the photos I took of the mirror, you can see a shirt drying on one of the dining room chairs in the mirror….lol. I didn’t realize and oh well…that’s real life, right??

Have a wonderful Christmas time and Thank you for stopping by!

Your house is beautiful Katrin! Love how you hide the fireplace behind the mirror, and all the nordic touches you’ve added to the house to make it feel cozy even with a nordic decor. I still can’t find the mistake, call me blind lol

Your living room is SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL!! I have loved the Nordic Christmas theme since your first post and it has been the best display of your kreativity! The fresh greens add the perfect touch of natural color. I really love the painted chestnuts and the anise stars with the wood slices. Those Ikea lanterns are so versatile. Loving those new pillows too, they remind me of your own artwork. You have kreated the perfect cozy and inviting space, and I notice the cup of coffee is waiting for me! Thank-you for another lovely post, as always.

So beautiful Katrin. I wish our house looked so stunning. I had to rewind and get my magnifying glasses out to find the oopsie in the mirror. And it’s not even an oopsie 😉 Your pics should be in a magazine or even better one of those gorgeous books with the glossy pages that you leave on display on your coffee table.

hahaha, I know, it’s not that much of a deal, hey? Only I am so freaky with little details I guess. It drives my husband up the wall, lol! Thank you for your lovely compliment Michelle, you’re very sweet!

Mistake? There are no mistakes here! Even the mistakes look as if they are part of the design! Haha! I love your tour and I knew I would from the moment you started with your nordic decor a month ago. It is winter wonderland perfection. I especially liked what you did with the collection on the wall. Vey nicely styled. And your favorite piece with the tin and the pines, what is that a crate? It looks so rustic and beautiful. But most of all it is a warm and inviting home for your family. Now off to find some snow! Merry Christmas!!

And save the chestnuts for me to eat!!

You’re so sweet, Thank you Mary! Well, the shirt wasn’t meant to appear in the photo, lol, but it had rained and I had so much laundry, lol, you should’ve seen the other side of the room, which is the dining room…ehem…not show worthy, lol!
