Simple nordic Christmas dining area

Well, the other day I showed you my nordic Christmas living room and today I’m excited to let you take a look at my simple nordic Christmas dining area! We don’t have a seperate dining room, it’s combined with the living area. Our dining table is probably way too big for this space but hey, I love it as it is and it accomodates up to 10 people when I extend it with a leaf in the middle. So, it makes for a great entertaining spot and we love to have people over for dinner.

Ok, so let me show you our dining area all decorated for Christmas in a simple nordic style!

I showed you my DIY garland yesterday and I really love the look of it hanging on that branch above the table along with my mothers glass baubles…

That big window makes for really bad lighting for photos, but does give us a lot of natural daylight which is so nice. I always like to decorate that end part of the table and for now I put up my wooden deer with my re-decorated DIY terrarium from Ikea frames with pine cones and some branches. You can also see my Advent Candles and we’re already on candle 3, wow!

This is my reindeer that I’ve painted white this year… I had bought it years ago in Canada and have put it up each year since…this is how it looked last year.

What a welcoming dining area. So cool that you can fit up to 10 people at the table, I wish we had a leaf for ours, but I have a glass top table, LOL, no leaf for that!

Your mother’s babbles look so nice hanging in the window. Isn’t it nice to have them out so that you can see them and remember her? Bring her into your holiday season with you.

The placemats fit perfectly into your decor. They look “chalkboardish” I thought you had probably done them yourself, they look like you! I love the chalkboard style, so I am wanting these for my dining room too!

I love that I have space for when people are over and the table needs some decor on that window end because it is just so long and big… I fell in love with those mats the second i saw them at Ikea! Can’t beat that price tag and I will use them all winter long for sure!!

Katrin, this dining room is beautiful!! I think the table is the perfect size and I love those placemats, I’ve said that before but hey they’re so pretty. The deer is so cute. I can’t believe the 3rd candle is already lit, time just flies huh? Your dining area is beautiful and I hope you have a wonderful time with your friends and family around the table.

The Nordic Christmas dining area is perfect! I think the reindeer is adorable with his white coat. Very kreative garland and I love the branch with the suspended glass baubles too. This Nordic Christmas theme is so beautiful and I have been archiving for future inspiration. Thank-you for this lovely post, as always.

I’m happy you like it Ellen! That reindeer was a steal a few years back in Canada and I still love it, now even more in white I must say… The glass baubles were my mothers, I love remembering her with little details like these, especially this time of year… Thank you, as always, for your kind words and visits! Have a lovely week!

Katrin the table is beautiful and the terrarium is fantastic filled up with pine cones and leaves. But the best part for me it that little wooden reindeer. What a treasure! You have created a warm and beautiful space for dining in your home. I can just imagine you standing a ladder taking those last pictures. Be careful ! 😉
