5 minute Craft: Plant Saucer Spring Coasters

There is always time for a Craft-Quicky, right? So I thought I share these 5 minute plant saucer Spring coasters here today. I am still going through my craft & DIY supply stash trying to use up what I have and to make new to me decor with what I already own. It is a lot of fun but sometimes a challenge not to run to the craft store to buy something, but look at what is inside that closet and twist and turn things to make them work. Ok, I admit, these colorful coasters from plant saucers did not need much twisting, they just were so easy, but I think they look a lot cuter now. And it took only 5 minutes!

My saucers were white glazed terracotta and I did not need to paint them. They were actually part of a set of pots from Ikea that I bought last summer.

The scandi-style flower cards came in handy for this! I used a mug that was slightly smaller than the inside of the saucer and traced around it, then cut out the circles.

I ended up using this colour combination and love these soft pastel tones for Spring!

All I did now was put some mod podge on the saucer and then stuck on the card. I applied two more coats of mod modge on top later on. That way the card has a protection film on it and can easily be cleaned.

And now they’re ready to be used as coasters!

Or plant saucers still, lol, but way cuter, don’t you think?? 😉 [both the pots don’t have a drainage hole, so the saucers wouldn’t get wet]

I have to say I love the bright and fun touch they add to my coffee table and really add a lovely Spring vibe to the room.

Wishing you a lovely day!

Such a lovely idea Katrin and easy little things like this are always the best, especially when you don’t have a lot of time and you get to use what’s already in your stash. I’m with Mary on this one. I can see them hanging on a wall too
