Painted wooden kitchen utensils

I’ve seen quite a few kitchen utensil projects on Pinterest. So, I thought, it was time for these to come out of the drawer and move up to the kitchen counter! But first, some paint!

I’ll be showing my kitchen at some point as well, but first, I want to work on a few details in it. One of those details are these painted wooden kitchen utensils. While I’m a white, neutral loving kinda gal, I did put a lot of colour into my kitchen. Well, not a lot, as in many different kinds of colours, just two or so. You can guess which! So that’s what it was gonna be for these wooden utensils. Yelllow! I know! So bright! So happy!

Anyhow, this little project was fun and looks fun in my kitchen as well, I think!

Here is the before pic:

Yes, those are bright, super~yellow chairs!

Painted wooden kitchen utensils:

I first painted the handles white and yellow, as you can see on the picture. When that was dry, I added yellow stripes to the white ones, but left the yellow ones just plain yellow. If there is such thing as plain yellow…

I did not have painters tape at hand, I just used a thin paint brush to paint the lines and part of  a kebab stick to print the two thin lines onto the white handle.

When it was all dry, I placed them in a pretty glass jar and they got an upgrade, no more drawer!

These are absolutely adorable and they go perfectly with your chairs. I think yellow is such a fresh and springtime color. Now we need to see the rest of your kitchen. Don’t you sometimes feel like everywhere you look there is a diy or craft project that you’ve done in the house. No stone is left unturned. I know when I look around my house it is so different from a year ago.

What a great way to spiffy up an everyday item. I LOVE yellow…it figures prominently in my home. It’s a color that you can’t feel sad when surrounded by it. And your post illustrates that so clearly. There was nothing wrong with them to begin with, but they are just so much happier now! And that kitchen chair? Love it!

    Hugs my friend, Lynn

Yes, I like yellow, and in my not so pretty kitchen it’s THE colour. I know, they were fine just as they were but I like the pops of yellow in my kitchen! and those chairs, well, I guess they’ll stay yellow…at some point I wanted to paint them in pastels…but I think I wait for that. Thanks Lynn! Happy Friday, hope you have a great weekend!!!
