Mini ~ Chalkboards DIY

Mini chalkboards DIY

Lately I’m doing a lot of Wall deco around here… do not know why. It just happens. I do know though, what is a must~add to my list of “crazy~abouts”: Chalkboards!

These are Mini~Chalkboards, so cute, aren’t they? I hung them in my entry way and just walk by and sigh a little. So adorable. And changeable. Now it’s Fall & Halloween. Soon it’s Christmas…

I had a lot of little white frames from…you know where…and I decided to re-purpose them as Mini~Chalkboards. So easy. If you’ve followed a bit, you know by now that I’m into the easy stuff. Easy peasy. Easy and quick. Quick and easy.

So all I had to do with these was sand the frames a little and then paint them. I’m in the gray~mood so yeah. Gray it was! Gray metallic or silver gray.

Next, I painted the glass part of the frame, in this case plastic, with Chalkboard Paint on the one side. I applied two layers.

And last, when all was dry, I put the glass/plastic part into the frame and started writing and drawing on them with chalk! That’s it! The chalk did come off the glass on some point when I pressed down with the chalk to hard, but I was more careful with the rest and it worked fine.

I hung them on my entry way wall, above the little bench where we take off our shoes. I added two frames with fall inspired postcards in them to the chalkboard collection. I think it gives it an extra touch and colour.

This is a FANTASTIC idea! I’ve been googling ideas for my 7mo old son’s room when we move. We share a room right now. I’ve been thinkng possibly wooden or tribal. I think these would go PERFECTLY in his room, with something along those lines on them. Fantastic! Thank you for sharing!
