Happy Monday! I hope the mom’s out there enjoyed a nice Mother’s Day! Just popping in today to share my May Living Room 2018 with y’all. Most of it will stay like this throughout the summer probably. I am using decor I already own plus some flea market finds. I am really hoping to get a new rug for our living room, as this one is not that nice anymore and has quite a bit of stains that I can’t remove. Anyways, for now I’m pretty happy with the bright, airy and summery space we have and am enjoying it a lot. Just sitting in my armchair with a cup of coffee and glancing through the room makes me happy! Outside it’s sunny and warm and I am so ready for that! Embrace the imperfections + live simply = my motto!
May Living Room 2018
I added greenery and warm textures like baskets and also blue and whites in pillows and curtains. It brings an airy summery vibe to it all. I am still looking for a light blue/green/beige rug for the sofa area…
I finally found a big round bottle to make another lamp! At our flea market for €5! Right now it is just sitting there with a lamp shade on top, I have not yet added the cable… but it’s looking cute! Remember a while back I made this lamp using a vase. It is now in my office.
The basket wall also adds a lovely beach vibe to the whole room.
I found these two cute bamboo tea lights at the flea market as well! At first I thought of painting them white, but now I really like how they stand out from sitting on the white table with all the neutrals around. Not everything has to be always painted, right? They look great just how they are!
The dining room table end is also always a favorite spot of mine to decorate. The huge window behind it brings in a lot of natural light, but I do like to have something at the end of the table to break up the curtains that cover the window.
I put up my DIY lantern from broken frames and put a candle inside, as well as a tin pot with shells and the bird just screams summer! Underneath it all, I just folded over some tea towels to make a table runner.
I also knotted two strings of rope and just put it next to the table runner to give it all a nautical feel.
Well, this is how my living area looks like right now. I am also getting the outdoor space ready which I will be sharing here as soon as it’s all finished. I will also share more details about my summery decorated cabinet top soon.
Thank you so much for stopping by today, wishing you a great day 🙂
