Make an easy & quick cabinet panel sign

You know how most of my decor is a quick & easy DIY thingy? Well, here comes another one! I’ll show you how to make an easy & quick cabinet panel sign today! You’ll be done in a couple of hours I promise! And only so because it takes a bit for the paint to dry, otherwise it would be even faster to make.

I went to Ikea the other day looking for some shower curtains, but as usual, I didn’t end up coming outta there with only one thing. You know how Ikea has the broken stuff area, not sure how they call it, but I always like looking through. I found this 2 Euro something cabinet panel.

It has some scratches on the other side that’s about it. It’s not pretty and it actually looks like one of my kitchen cabinet doors…So I sanded it quite a bit and then gave it lots of coats of white and grey paint. I forgot to take a pic of how it looked in between, hope you don’t mind…

I decided to have arrows on it, I know, I’m all about arrows and all that, I really like the tribal look!

Then, with washi tape, I taped the arrows on it, different ones and absolutely non perfect ones, just sticking on the washi tape so it would look like arrows. I only had washi tape at home, but you could of course also use painters tape.

Next I spray painted everything with golden metallic spray paint, but only a little tiny bit..and then a little tiny bit of white spray paint after that because it was too metallic for my taste…

And last, I peeled off the washi tape! That was all and I like how it is simple but a little glam~y because of the golden spray paint touch. It’s pretty heavy so I just leaned it against the wall, which I really like!Make an easy & quick cabinet panel sign/kreativk.net

Here I leaned it against my Gustav Klimt “The Kiss” print. I like the different styles and how it just looks effortless…

Thanks for stopping by friends, hope you’re having a great Wednesday!

Great job! The metallic paint really makes the arrows stand out, and what an easy idea to use washi tape to make the images. Thanks for sharing at the Talented Tuesday Link Party.

Girl, you can make something really special out of nothing! I love the imperfectness of the arrows, it makes them so much more special. The paint treatment is just right and I love it leaning up against “The Kiss” it really brings out the gold in the print and the other colors pop at the same time. I love arrows too, they are really cool with your decor!

I love the effect you achieved by spraying the metallic spray paint and then doing a light layer of white spray paint on top – looks awesome.

Katrin, this is so cool! I’m very intimidated by DIYs involving paint or any kind of tools. But, this is one that I’d be totally comfortable with! You made the instructions so simple that I know I could do it! I’ll have to keep my eye out for cabinet doors. 😉

Hi Gina! That’s great that you got motivated to try it out, I promise it is super simple and as long as you cover up everything around so it doesn’t get covered in spray paint, you’re fine! Super easy and super fun! And if you don’t like it, just spray over and try it again! Thanks for stopping by!!! Happy Weekend!

Brilliant…as usual! Did you know what you were going to do when you bought that door? Or did you just say “I know I could do something fun with you!” Just curious how your creative mind works.
No doubt your new arrow art works so well with the rest of your decor…it is very you.

Have a wonderful Wednesday dear Katrin!
