Local Decor Shopping: Int’l Bloggers Club Challenge

This month we are a little bit early with our Int’l Bloggers Club Challenge and it sure is a fun theme again! In case you missed the previous Club Challenges, you can find them here

Our theme this time is: Local Decor Shopping! How fun! I mean, who doesn’t like to go shopping! I sure do! And before I start, I must warn you: Photo Overload coming up!

Today I’m gonna show you my favourite two places to go to, here where I live! But before, I have to explain a little bit more about them. So first of, I love shopping and I have lots of stores I like to go to, but these two I’m about to introduce today are so nice, they are local and I go there quite a bit. I love to support the local stores and right where I live, just a little walk from my house away, there is this little, fun, outside shopping center. It is so lively, people are always out and about here and you can sit somewhere on a terrace and have a coffee, or tapas [we actually go quite often to grab a tapa, especially now, when the weather is starting to get hotter].

In this little shopping center, there are lots of small stores, bakeries, a book store, fashion stores, jewlery stores, my favourite hair dresser, restaurants, bars, and so on. In the summer they have fun rides for kids, music and it’s quite the scene! It’s small, but there’s always, something going on and on the weekends it’s lovely to have a drink at night, to just sit under the stars and enjoy! Kids everywhere, people chatting and hanging out and just having a blast! That is where I live, that is all happening in this little “Centro Comercial de Vistahermosa” a few steps from our house. And that is, where one of my favourite little stores is!

This is just one part of the shopping center, to give you an idea.

So, back to my favourite store, well, one of them! It’s called “Little London”. You can find their facebook link below, why don’t you give them a like! The owner is the nicest lady and every time I go we chat a bit while I admire her store and her taste of decor! Just lovely!

There’s a little bit of everything to find: she’s got the cutest kids fashion and also women’s and it’s so hard to not grab everything she’s got in there!

Since the beach season is coming up soon, she’s selling all kinds of cute kids swim suits and has them in little bags inside these fun crates!

And, don’t blame me, but I had to take something home! I fell right in love with this cute pillow saying “siesta”. Right now it’s on my sofa, sometimes on my chair, but soon it’ll be on my patio sofa, where one can have the best siestas!!!

Now to my second favourite local store here: It is a bit further away from my home, not located in the shopping center because it’s a garden store! The best garden store around in my opinion! Ok, I am not a garden expert and have failed many times planting and trying to grow my own…. so now I only buy “hard to kill plants” like aloe, palm trees, cacti and such. So far so good! Here, you can find any plant you could think of, it’s just amazing to go and have a walk through all the greenery. They do not only have plants though, they also sell hand painted flower pots! Which is what I’m going to show you!

Hi Katrin, what a cute little shop the first one is, I can see what attracts you to it. And the pots in the garden center look really lovely, I love nosing around garden centers, but am hopeless at keeping plants alive, cactus are by far my favorite plant as they thrive on neglect!

    • Katrin
      26/04/2016 at 07:55

Thank you Debbie! Yes, I’m a cactus girl, you are right, the garden centres are lovely, I could hang out there all day, 😉

Everything in the stores would look fantastic in your house. Mine too. I can’t believe you got out of there with just one pillow! I absolutely love the pillow but I’m amazed at your restraint. I have really come to love the international bloggers Club monthly series. It’s really fun to see how all four of you live your life in different ways, and different countries. Really awesome can’t wait to see what you feature next month.

I adore places like this. We’ve got a shop like this just 10 minutes walk from my house, I love to go there and have a browse around. It only opens week days and Saturdays and because of my work schedule, I rarely get time to go down there, which is a shame, but I do like having a good look around.

I wish I could go shopping with you in your favorite stores, I see so many yummy things. The Siesta pillow really caught my eye for my husband. Seeing I can’t go there for it, I may have to try and duplicate it to give to him.

Good Morning Katrin, so that Little London store looks like your home! I know you could move right in. And guess what…is one of the photos there is a red tin heart and I have the exact one in my home that I brought home from when I was hiking in Alsace-Lorraine! And your garden store, all the pottery really just says “I’m from Spain”…it really is lovely.
    Thanks for the virtual fieldtrip!
    Hugs, Lynn

Katrin, I could do some serious damage in Little London. I love the way the shop owner has everything on display – nice a vintage looking. Your pillow is awesome! One can only dream of siestas over here – they are saved for the weekends if we’re lucky.

    • Katrin
      19/04/2016 at 07:49

Hahaha, you had me laughing Marie, I know, it’s hard to NOT do any damage there! Yes, siestas are for the weekend for sure… too busy! Thanks so much for stopping by 🙂 Have a great Tuesday!

Katrin I love your little London store. It is full of so many unique things. I also really liked that hanging shelf idea and the distressing on the dresser was really pretty. I can just see that pretty patio bench in your home, it would fit in perfectly. And the garden center has such beautiful planters and the fact that they are hand painted makes them all the more special. Katrin I also buy plants that are hard to kill…lol. My balcony is full of aloe vera. But lately it has been getting too big and I don’t know what to do.

    • Katrin
      18/04/2016 at 14:35

Thank you Mary! Yes, it is an amazing place to go shopping! The hanging shelf is awesome, right?? Mary, I cut my aloe when it gets too big and put it on my skin, even in my yoghurt, lol, seriously, it’s so good for you! all natural!

Katrin, no one can blame you for taking that pillow home, it is adorable!! Love the shop, it seems cozy and there are so many beautiful things there! And the flower pots, OMG they are gorgeous!! I’ve been able to grow African daisies and they would look great there! I would love going shopping with you and take some tapas later to recover lol!

I know hey? It’s a great place to go to and the “vivero” is awesome too! Love both and people always chat and are so nice! It would be awesome to go for tapas with you, they have great ones here, we love them all! And our kids could go play in the park! Perfecto!
