How To Make A Simple Wood Slice Sign For Fall

A wood slice gets re-purposed into a wall sign using a belt to keep it in place. Find out how to make a simple wood slice sign for Fall!!

I am ready for Fall  – mentally – my home and family not quite yet. Which is probably normal, cause it’s only the middle of August. And that’s ok. So I didn’t do any decorating but thought, why not make a rustic yet simple wood slice for Fall??

Wood slices are so much fun and can be used as coasters, trays and also wall signs. So, if you are also ready for Fall, and feel like you need a little Fall sign on the wall to start with, then check out the one I made in one afternoon.

Instructions:

Start, by painting the wood slice white, using white chalky paint. Leave a border all around, to be able to still see the wood peeking through. Let dry.

Using a pencil, hand write “hello fall” in the center.

If you don’t feel comfortable to hand write your sign, feel free to use this similar free printable as a guide. You can trace the letters onto the sign with this method, except using pencil instead of chalk.

Once you have your letters traced or hand written with pencil, simply trace them using a black permanent marker.

And last, glue your belt around the wood slice using hot glue.

Voila! So simple right??

Love how you hung the sign up with the belt Katrin. That’s so cool. I think I’m going to try make one too, but mine will have to say “Hello Spring” coz she’s almost here and that’s my favorite season. Autumn, bleh not so much

Pfff… Ganz ehrlich?

Super cute sign for fall but what makes it stand out from the rest is that clever use of a belt! Love it – Pinned it to my Fall Ideas board.

Using the belt was so clever Katrin. It really adds charm and texture. I think it’s time we started to welcome fall for good!
