I am ready for Fall – mentally – my home and family not quite yet. Which is probably normal, cause it’s only the middle of August. And that’s ok. So I didn’t do any decorating but thought, why not make a rustic yet simple wood slice for Fall??
Wood slices are so much fun and can be used as coasters, trays and also wall signs. So, if you are also ready for Fall, and feel like you need a little Fall sign on the wall to start with, then check out the one I made in one afternoon.
How To Make A Simple Wood Slice Sign For Fall

What you need:
hot glue gun
black permanent marker
pencil [not shown in photo below]
Start, by painting the wood slice white, using white chalky paint. Leave a border all around, to be able to still see the wood peeking through. Let dry.
Using a pencil, hand write “hello fall” in the center.
If you don’t feel comfortable to hand write your sign, feel free to use this similar free printable as a guide. You can trace the letters onto the sign with this method, except using pencil instead of chalk.
Once you have your letters traced or hand written with pencil, simply trace them using a black permanent marker.
And last, glue your belt around the wood slice using hot glue.
Voila! So simple right??
