23 In Fall

Holiday Simmer Pot

Today I want to share this awesome smelling Holiday simmer pot with y’all! Last weekend we had a rainy one here and I loved it! Two days inside, wearing comfy pants and just enjoying the Fall rain, so I quickly whipped up this simmer pot and the house smelled like Fall and the Holidays all at once!

I had all of the ingredients at home, you probably have them handy as well. There are many simmer pot ideas out there, here’s mine:

Holiday Simmer Pot:

~ 1/2 ginger root [my hubby drinks ginger tea by simply boiling the roots and adding some honey, so I had them on hand, otherwise I think you could add ground ginger as well]

~ 1 apple cut in half

~ 1/2 orange cut in half

~ 2 cinnamon sticks

~ a spoonful of cloves

~ a spoonful of dried fennel

Place all of the ingredients above in a pot and cover with water and let it simmer on low. When the water gets too low simply add some more, that’s all.

The house will smell amazing in a natural way in just a few moments!

Oh wow, this must smell heavenly Katrin. The only thing we don’t have is ginger, but I’m putting a pot on right now to try it.

This sounds amazing and easy- a winner for me! I wonder if this would also work in a small crock pot? I love that the ingredients are already in my kitchen- except the ginger root, but thank goodness for ground ginger. I’m sure this will smell delicious too! Thank-you for another lovely post, as always.

It really is amazing Ellen. The house still has that scent and I haven’t put the pot since the weekend. It will still smell after you turn it off and just let it stand. Enjoy & thank you for the visit as always! 🙂

Ok it’s time for me to run out and get some fennel. I have everything else. Otherwise, I’m taking the donkey and coming over to your house. I should make it there by Christmas.
