Easy Fabric Pumpkins for Fall

Easy fabric pumpkins for fall [kreativk.net] 16

You guys, I know we’re in August, and summer is still going on, especially here, it hasn’t cooled down a bit and won’t before October for sure, but I’m in such a fall mood! It’s crazy and I know it, but I can’t help it. Fall will be here before we know it [at least on the calendar for me]. So today I want to show you these cute and easy fabric pumpkins for fall!

You’ll have enough time to get them ready for sure. I’m having fall on my mind a lot lately and this usually happens to me at this time of year. I get so melancholic and really miss Canada and also Germany a bit, even though I haven’t been living there for some time now. Fall is my favourite time of year, and I feel like cuddling up under a blanket on a dark and cloudy day with a hot cup of coffee…

Well, I didn’t cuddle up under a blanket when I made these, I cranked up the a/c to be able to have a hot cup of coffee at least, lol. I’m sure you’ve seen lots like these little fabric pumpkins before, they are everywhere and just so fun I think! So today I’m sharing my very easy version with you!

I used fabric I had at home and a plate to trace a circle on the fabric and then cut it out. I grabbed grey thread and doubled it, so it would not rip so easily as I didn’t have thick thread at home.

I added stitches all around the edge of the circle and tightened it up slowly while adding more stitches. I then filled it with left over fabric scraps and tightened up the thread a bit more until there was only a small hole left for the stick to go in. When I put the stick in the middle I added more stitches to kind of sew it all in place to hold the stick a bit better in place. It might have worked better with thicker thread as you can pull it better and tighter, but for now this was ok for me as well.

I added little scaps of fabric cut to a leaf shape to the stem and some twine.

Katrin, time is moving so fast for me this year, it seems as if I’m missing out on so much. So, I don’t want to hurry fall, not yet. Cause then the winter is even closer! And my flowers will stop blooming. That is a sad day for me!

But these little pumpkins almost push me towards fall, they are really cool. I love that you didn’t use the typical fall fabrics, I’m more into decor that matches the home than I am into decor that follows the traditional holiday patterns.

These have to look adorable in your home, and incredibly stylish too!

Way too fast Nikki, I feel the same and don’t want to hurry too much and enjoy more, it’s just so hot here and I’m tired of it. I am missing Canada and the fall and cold, lol, the heat gets to me. Oh well. I’m happy you like the pumpkins, I plan on making some bigger ones as well and yes, I like to have just little pops of orange here and there for fall. Thanks so much for visiting!

These are really really cute! I especially like that you used an out of the norm fabric rather than orange!

Thanks so much Jeannee, yes, although I like orange touches here and there for fall, I thought it was fun having them in neutral tones. It just goes better with the rest of my decor.

Katrin, i can’t wait for fall either, it’ll be here before you know it. I love, love these pumpkins you made from fabric!!! The grey and orange look so great together and the twine give it that rustic feel. I like the photo step by step grid too; it makes it easy to see the steps in an easy and concise way.

Katrin, now you’re making me fallsick. (as in homesick) 😉 I too love fall, more than any other season and am totally sick of this heat. I will look at your adorable pumpkins now, think of you under that blanket and hopefully get in the right mood. The fabrics you used are really cute because they are so neutral they will go with any decor, and the little twigs and pieces of twine make them special.

Oh Katrin, these fabric pumpkins are the cutest ever!! I have seen some fabric pumpkins in gift shops at considerable cost, but yours are so much better and have that loving homemade touch. I am always amazed at your kreative mind and artistic talent. Fall is my favorite time of the year, the weather is just a bonus. It is never to early to start getting ready and this project is a must do! Thank-you for this lovely post, as always. P.S. Just wondering if you have started school and teaching yet?
