13 In Christmas

Easy DIY Christmas tree ornaments plus free printables

The tree is up! Yup! Finally, and I’m so happy, because it smells just like Christmas in our whole house. Even with a stuffed nose [because I caught a cold] I can still smell that pine tree and am enjoying it! You must think I’m crazy… well, I can’t help it, I just love this time of year!  So I’ve made some fun and easy DIY Christmas tree ornaments plus free printables for you if you like the idea and want to make some quickly for your own tree!

Ok, before I show you more, I have to admit, that the idea wasn’t completely my own….I had checked out Lauren’s beautiful Christmas tree at Bless’er House the other day, and I liked her idea of hanging photos on it a lot! I did change it up a bit for my tree, I didn’t use photos, I used prints and I clipped on most of them.

Easy DIY Christmas tree ornaments plus free printables!

For the clips you need:

~ wooden clothespins

~ white acrylic paint

~ stars [mine are birch bark stars]

~ hot glue gun

Paint the wooden clothespins white and then glue on the star.

The printables:

~ you can download them for free here

~ scrapbook paper for background [ I used white textured paper, but Christmas themed scrapbook paper would for sure look great as well!]

~ glue

~ scissors

Print the designs and cut them according to how big you want the ornaments to be or how big your scrapbook paper is and then glue it on. Use the clothespins to clip it onto the tree.

You can always just punch a hole into it and just add a string and hang it up just like a normal ornament too.

Your free printables are lovely, Katrin, and they look terrific on your tree. We switched to a faux tree last year and I have to get my wonderful piney odor via a candle–lol. Thanks for linking up your posts with us at Vintage Charm 🙂

Ok, I love these, really love them. They look great on your tree and they would look great on a bunting or wreath too. So flexible, and they could tie your whole decor together. Brilliant! I use a burlap ribbon on my tree and I’m thinking that the clothespins will help me attach it better, so it will stay where I want it and look cool! I am so stealing this idea! Thanks for the free printables, saves me time and I love that I can share something with my family that you shared with yours!

What a cool idea Katrin. The tree will be full of bright white and beauty! Love the idea of the clothes pins. And also the wood slices look great. Hope you feel better, it is awful when you get a cold at this time of the year.
