Easter Basket Alternative : Bunny Jars

Happy Monday! It is Father’s Day today here in Spain and it still feels a little strange to me, celebrating Father’s Day in March. Well we do both, this one and the one in June. Lucky hubby cause Mother’s Day happens to be on the same day, ha!

Anyways, since Easter is next week, I was getting ready some treats for the girls. So, let me show you my Easter basket alternative : bunny jars. I had seen them before on Pinterest and absolutely loved the idea so I had to make my own. Plus, they can be used after to store little stuff on the girls desks.

I ended up using shorter jars than the ones shown in the picture.

Just glue the cute little bunnies onto each lid and then spray paint them. I probably gave them 3-4 coats each. But that might depend on the paint you end up using.

I bought two cans of this chalky style spray paint and I have to say I’m absolutely loving it! It gives a nice matte finish and looks just like chalky paint, except it’s way easier to just spray it on. Especially on pieces like these bunny figurines. You can cover every little corner in just a few coats of spray paint.

And this is how they look after being filled with chocolate eggs and such…

Honestly, I can’t wait to get my hands on that spray paint again and I am planning to spray paint our kitchen chairs with it in all pastels. I have to wait til the weather gets a little better, but I have big plans. These pastel tones just make for such a happy mood and I need some more of that, haha. Anyways… wishing you a wonderful start of the week!

Thank you so much Debra! I found them in my Easter stash… but I am sure the Dollar store would have similar ones for sure… I can’t remember when I got them or what for, but they sure came in handy now.

Katrin this is a really great way to store those chocolate Easter eggs. I’m sure they’ll get eaten in no time and you’ll have to refill the jars but at least they will be in one spot. Such a cute idea!

Thanks friend, they will be gone way too soon, haha. But that’s the fun of it, the girls will have enough other “stuff” to store in them.

They are so adorable and will look great on your Easter table, Katrin! You could also use one to store treats for your bunny.
You just should make up a date for a second Mother’s Day. đŸ˜‰

What a kreative use for a jar! These are so sweet and the soft pastel colors are divine. All that I need to get is some of these chalky spray paints and I’m going to make some gifts! Thank-you!

Oh too cute Katrin. The kids are going to love these and they’re so cool for keeping hairbands and other little bobs and bits too.
