DIY Mini Wooden Bead Wreath

It´s funny how things turn out sometimes. Some weeks ago, I told you about my hunt for wooden beads and I showed you the garland I made from a back massager because I couldn´t find affordable wooden beads anywhere, remember? Well, turns out that I managed to find a box of 150 wooden beads back here in Spain that I ordered eagerly at amazon. They were an ok price, considering there were 150 beads in different sizes. I was so excited and pressed the order button, thinking how amazingly I was attracting wooden beads, lol! That is not all to the story though, I got quite the surprise, but ended up making this cute DIY mini wooden bead wreath with them!

So when the package arrived the next day…. I found myself holding an eensy weensy fairy size box with 150 tiny wooden beads in it, lol! That is why they add the diameter to the description and it was totally clear, but I just didn´t pay attention, envisioning and dreaming about another wooden bead garland except way longer this time.

On the website they looked huge and I didn´t look at the dimensions….oh no.

I arranged the beads in the pattern I liked and then started painting.

Never mind the bakers twine, I first planned on using it to thread the beads but then used wire.

And where the two ends were twisted to make the wreath, I added a string of cut linen that I fringed just a little.

Thank you for stopping by today, have a lovely day!

Aww… We have all been there. Too excited about our find to stop and look at all of the details. Lol. I’m glad you came up with this adorable little wreath. It looks beautiful and will match your wooden bead garland when you do find the right size beads to make it. Thanks for sharing your tutorial with us at Merry Monday this week!

Oh no, that’s so disappointing Katrin, but you managed to make it work. We need to chat my lovely friend. We have a bead shop down the road from us that sells packets of wooded beads for about 3 Euro, in every color you could imagine. The wooden beads come in three sizes small, medium and large. The medium ones are about 2cm in diameter. I would love to send you some

You´re so sweet Michelle, what a nice surprise! I can´t wait to start my next project with these. I also can´t get over the fact that they´re so cheap over there. Thank you so much friend!

Katrin, I don’t recall a specific scenario but I’m sure I’ve had those times when I expected a product to be one thing and it turned out different than my expectations. Anyway, I’m glad you were able to use the beads. They look wonderful painted all different shades. Another beautiful project!!

Oh yeah, I used them anyways, but was a bit disappointed at first. Now I like the little wreath and it is a nice addition to my fall decor. Thanks so much Keri!

This sweet little wreath is very nice Katrin. I would love to have one hanging on the corner of a mirror like a halo. Too bad they weren’t as large as you hoped. I know last Christmas I want looking for beaded banners and at $50 dollars they were still cheaper than buying beads.

Love this simple classic project. Thanks for sharing.

There is a lesson in this post…pay attention to the details, before you press the button. I have made the same mistake, much to my dismay, after excitedly opening a package. Hopefully, not to be repeated. You did make lemonade with your little lemons and I love it! I’m trying to figure out the diameter of the wreath, it could be larger than I think. Large or small, it is lovely! Thank-you for sharing.

Yes, oh yes. I wanted those beads so bad, so this is what happened. The wreath is pretty small, probably about a 25cm diameter, like 9 inches or so? Thanks Ellen!
