Happy Monday from me to you! I hope your weekend has been a good one. My weekend has been quite productive and busy. I’m excited to show you my DIY makrame wall hanging today and also want to shout out a huge Thank You to my friend Michelle from A Crafty Mix. She is just the sweetest and so so kind to me. Remember that I was looking for affordable wooden beads for the longest time and couldn’t really find any, so I even repurposed a back massager to get some? Well… I do have a gazillion beads now. And all because of Michelle. She discovered a bead store in her neck of the woods, back in South Africa, where they happen to sell all kinds of wooden beads and only wooden beads, can you even imagine that?

DIY Makrame Wall Hanging
So, Michelle went ahead and got me so many beads you guys, I am in bead heaven! She put them in a box and send them all the way from South Africa to the South of Spain. How kind and sweet is that!? And I have been the busiest ever with these babies! Get ready for a lot of bead projects coming up here on the blog, lol!
Starting with today’s wall hanging! And as you read this post, this wall hanging is on it’s way to South Africa, because it’s a Thank-You gift for Michelle! I couldn’t be more thankful to have such a wonderful friend …
The beads come in beautiful tones and for this wall hanging I used the dark and light gey ones I absolutely love!
I grabbed a wooden stick, some wool in grey tones and started by adding lot’s of wool strings to the stick.
Til it looked like this…
I then arranged the beads on the wool strings to get an idea of how I wanted it to look like. When all beads were knotted into their spots, I taped off the bottom part to give the whole thing a trim.
And this is how it looks now: well…it will be hopefully when it gets to Michelle!
Sharing is caring, pin it for later!!!
I really hope Michelle likes it and am so so happy & thankful to have her as a friend 🙂
