DIY Hello Sign Using A Yute Place Mat

Hello friends! So happy you’re visiting today, because I have this simple yet very cute little project to show you. There’s just nothing more inviting than looking at a happy and pretty front door when you walk into a house I think. I usually have wreaths on my door that get changed with the seasons, but this Spring I wanted something different. Like this DIY hello sign using a yute place mat! And just like my latest projects and crafts, this one is also made with materials I had at home ready to be re-used. Plus, it’s time for our monthly creative blog hop, so below you will find lot’s more inspiration!

DIY Hello Sign Using A Yute Place Mat

I had this place mat from before, I bought it months ago for 1 Euro and re-purposed it in a fun way. Read more about it here. Now it is being re-re-purposed into a cute front door sign.

Alright, so I started by laying out the rope making the “hello” without actually gluing it on right away. I wanted to get an idea on how it looks and how to arrange the rope first.

I just put small spots of hot glue here and there to keep it in place.

And once the rope was glued on, I added the faux eucalyptus branches and a ranunculus flower to give it all a lovely spring vibe. I poked the ends into the mat and added little bits of hot glue to keep the rest of it in place.

So super cute – and it looks much more complicated than it really is, which is my favorite kind of craft.

What a kreative alternative to the traditional door wreath, I love it! The rope script is an amazing addition that adds great eye appeal. Using items you already have on hand, and so do I, takes this to the top of the must make list. My glue gun is ready to “Spring” into action! Thank-you my Kween!!
