Cozy Winter Living & Dining Room

Cozy Winter Living & Dining Room

Today I’m sharing my Cozy Winter Living & Dining Room with you! With all the Christmas deco gone, the house felt a little empty and at first. I guess that happens to most of you, right?  It’s so exciting to decorate for the Holidays, with all that festive glam everywhere, but once it’s gone, all that is left are bare and naked walls, halls & corners it seems. Only at first though!

Winter can be soooo nice & cozy! And since it basically just started, I’m sharing how I decorated our Living & Dining Room with simple & natural elements that make it cozy and a happy place!

Last week I posted some Winter Deco Inspiration and Winter Deco Must Haves. Now, I used similar items from the Must Haves and decorated my home. So much fun!

I used lots of crates, baskets, lanterns and candles…I added ever green twigs and small branches, rocks and pine cones as well. I’ve said this before, but the photos never do it justice, I wish they came out the way I can see it when I’m standing there…lol. Working on that!

Bears are so amazing this season! I drew this bear on my huge chalkboard frame the other day.

On top of the dining table you can see a simple branch, some candles, evergreens and a frame with doodled arrows in it.

I also used lots of cozy throws and pillows… here inside the woven tray, I arranged pine cones with winter jars. I’ll be posting how I made them soon!

Evergreens, branches in a crate and a lantern on top of a magazine pile inside the chimney we don’t use…

On top of the cabinet are small fake fir trees inside a crate…

Evergreens on each side of the sofa, sweater pillows and throws..

And, this is where the tree was before…so I just put a chair there now, on top of it a basket with blankets & magazines…

Enough is enough! I’m done decorating for now, as you can see, I like having my home airy and light, bright, with lots of white and natural tones in it. The other day I read a post where they mentioned that you’ve gotta know when to stop! And I felt like that could have come from me, because I agree 100%! Know when to stop adding stuff, less is more!

Have a fun winter!

Katrin, I love your home. So clean and bright and cozy all at the same time. You are so creative and thoughtful when decorating and I love your choices. I’m sure your family does too. And the chair with the basket is perfect in that spot! I feel like I’ve just been over for a coffee and a biscuit!

Although the space is very neutral you manage to make it extremely cozy. It’s because you add so many personal touches to everything, the little doodles on the jars, the adorable bear on the chalk board, the pretty jars inside the woven tray and of course all the throw blankets everywhere. I’m gonna have to steal that idea of putting them in baskets. I also wanted to ask you if that is a new tray that you have in the dining room table or if you re -did it? You’ll have to show us how to do this, it looks so cute!

Hi Mary! Thanks for your words, love it when you visit! I guess it could get quite boring if I didn’t add little touches here and there….for spring I like colours, but I’m just the whitish greyish person I guess… The tray is an upcycled one, I actually didn’t want to post it…maybe I should! Thanks friend!

Katrin, I meant it in a positive way. I love the calm and relaxing feel feel of neautrals but some people make it look sterile. You make it warm and cozy. It’s not boring at all because there is so much detail to see. I too have been moving away from lots of colors and towards neutrals.

Oh, I love you, no worries at all. I didn’t think you meant it in a negative way Mary!!! XOXO
