Colorful Spring Porch 2018

Today is a good day for a colorful Spring Porch! I am having so much fun adding pops of color to my decor this Spring and wanted to share it with you. My front porch is cute and small and I love decorating it each season. I already shared my green potting station with you the other day. It is actually on the back terrace, so I thought why not have some green in the front as well? I just can’t get over this green so I had to paint the bistro chairs too!

Last year around this time, I had a pallet lounge on my porch, you can see parts of it here. We enjoyed this space a lot, but the seat cushion didn’t make it and the pallets were just rotting on the bottom as I had them out there all winter long. So the pallets had to go.

I wanted to set up a little spot where we could sit and have a coffee in the morning on weekends as this part of our outdoor space is sunny and so lovely this time of year. I did have the bistro table, it actually served as a side table a while back and now it is perfect for this spot.

So I went out to Ikea and found these bistro chairs for 10€ each! Perfect! I didn’t want to spend a lot. They look great like they come and I didn’t plan on painting them, but then… the green potting station happened in between and I just had to! I bought green chalk paint and got started!

Then I changed my mind and painted it with white chalk paint and distressed it so the green would peek through. I didn’t like that at all and painted it green again, distressed a bit, so now the white peeks through 😉 Gotta love the green!

The sign on the wall used to be my pool sign last summer, you can read more about it here. I painted it white a while back and now it got a spot on this wall.

I found the big lantern on the table at a flea market for next to nothing. It looked weathered, which wasn’t bad at all, but I spray painted it yellow. I just want bright and happy colors on my porch and I think this pretty much covers ¨bright & happy¨!

I added some succulents to the table and a faux pussy willow wreath to the lantern.

The little white hanging lantern is also holding a succulent pot. So cute isn’t it??

I agree that your porch looks happy and I love that shade of green. Now I have to find some decor in that shade to style a tablescape. Thank you for sharing with us this week at Celebrate Your Story and we hope you will join us again next week.

Katrin I think those bristo chairs are adorable. And I think that painting them green with the white showing through was a brilliant idea. Everything is colorful but just in the right dose so it doesn’t overwhelm. I’m glad you were able to use the pretty beach sign again. It’s one of my favorites.

Thank you Mary, I love these chairs and they are pretty comfy too. The sign survived all the rain and looks pretty rough, but hey, weathered is good!

Ahh Katrin, I love your happy porch. It does look like the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee and just soak up that sunshine feeling. And that green is so pretty too. BTW is that a Pachypodium I spy in your one pot at the back there? The spikey one with the leaves on top. We call them “halfmens” (half person) here in South Africa. When they form side branches they do look like people with tufts of hair on top.

Thank you Michelle. I am really happy with how it looks right now. The plants, oh I have no idea, one is a yucca and a cactus and the other one just an oversized succulent, haha.

Your porch is so beautiful and inviting! I absolutely love the splashes of colour you’ve included, not too flashy, but subtle. Lovely
