In Canada…a trip to Bayfield, Ontario

I just wanted to show you some photos I took while we were visiting Bayfield, Ontario the other day. It is such a dreamy and cute little village right on lake Huron and sure worth a visit! We had great weather, not too hot, not too cold, perfect!

We brought our swim suits to go to the beach, but I guess we are a bit spoiled when it comes to beach weather…cause the water was kinda cold… so we didn´t end up going in. But the views and walks were so much fun!

This is a very quaint little village Katrin. I actually laughed when I heard you mention bathing suit. Those lakes would be so deep and freezing. I hope you put your foot in so you can say you did, but I doubt anyone would blame you for passing on the “refreshing” dip in the lake.

I was so surprised, because a few years back, I guess it was after a mild winter… we went to Sauble Beach, further north on lake Huron and we were in the water the whole week we were there and it was amazing! I kept jokin that it was just like Spain, lol! I guess it all depends how cold it gets in the winter…and how hot in the summer to warm up the lake…

What a cute little village! It looks like you had a wonderful time. The Great Lakes are mostly too cold for swimming unless you are a brave soul! Have a safe trip back to Europe! Thanks for sharing at Celebrate Your Story!

Yes, too cute and I was surprised it was so cool… a few years back we were up in Sauble Beach, which is way north on lake Huron and it was really warm that summer, so the water was too… anyways, the village is worth a trip for sure! Thanks so much Chloe for stopping by!

Katrin, sorry you didn’t get to go swimming. The water looks awesome, too bad it was too cold. The town looks very beautiful and picturesque! I’m glad you had a wonderful time!!

I love visiting small towns in Ontario, but I’ve yet to visit Bayfield. Would love to go now that I see just how beautiful it is! I just googled it and see that it would be well over 6 hours from Ottawa – but we have friends in London, ON to stay with, so it would be definitely worth a trip to explore the area 🙂

I have not been to Ontario, or anywhere in Canada in so many years. No excuse, it is not even that far to Canada from here. Your photos are beautiful and inspire me to plan a trip – very soon! The Village Bookshop would be my destination, love browsing through books. It seems that you had a wonderful vacation, but it is always good to return to home. Thank-you for sharing your fantastic photos.

The village of Bayfield is truly beautiful and as well as Ontario worth a trip for sure Ellen. Honestly, we wouldn´t be here if it wasn´t for my husband´s family that lives close by, and I´m so happy we had the chance to get to know this part of the world. We´re on our way to Lisbon, Portugal now, and after some time there, it´s time to head home and I´m looking forward to it! Thank you for stopping by, have a wonderful week!

Now that is my kind of summer. I am a green person all the way and love to look at lush growth all around me. Give me trees and grass and I am happy. Your trip is so inspiring with such pretty buildings and a quaintness that makes me want to visit and join you.
