51 In Summer

A Summerly Entrance

Happy Wednesday everyone! It’s a hot one here, really summerly and nice, so today I thought, I’ll show you a summerly entrance!

A summerly Entrance kreativk.net

I’ve showed you my entrance before, and how I like to decorate it a little bit depending on the season. And to be honest, due to it’s small size, there’s not much I can do to it, except exchange wall decor and little things here and there. But, we all know how even little things can make a big difference and impact on the deco!

This time around I made this bright looking, summerly, fresh canvas painting for my entrance wall. I really like how it turned out, it looks a little bit like the sea, waves, just perfect for summer I thought. You can find out all the steps to make this type of painting over at A Pretty FixJelica has a wonderful tutorial on how to create white wash abstract art and I followed it step by step to make my own. I did add some golden touches to it and chose gray and blue tones.

And the rest of the deco is pretty much what I had at home. Like these summer hats. I use them to go to the beach, because I’m really blonde and burn my head right away and because I like them! But I also like show casing them on the wall. Easy to grab on my way out and pretty to look at!

This is the entrance, coming in from outside, I also like to keep it simple and clutter free, inside my beloved bench I have precious storage space for more stuff like hats and bags to grab easily on the way out.

Now in the summertime there are no jackets to wear here, so I use the space behind the entrance door for my bags and beach totes.

I like the airy and summerly feel of my entrance and hope you got a little bit of inspiration today! Thanks so much for the visit, I always appreciate it!!

Oh I envy you Katrin!! I our house you walk straight into our lounge room and that’s one thing I dislike about our house. You have made your entry so welcoming a light! Must be nice to come home! Thanks so much Sam! I’ve lived in a house with no real entryway before and I definitely like having the space for shoes and coats and all that, even if it’s small. But you can make anything work really, right? There are so many ideas out there I’m sure yours looks lovely!

Your entrance looks so fresh and airy!! It doesn’t seem small at all, you take advantage of anything to make it looks bigger. Your painting is so pretty too!! I love those bags at the back of the door, did you painted them too?

    • Katrin
      18/06/2016 at 18:22

Thanks so much Pili! I didn’t paint the bags, they are all over the stores here, but these ones actually were sent to us by my sister in law as a present. Perfect for the beach!

So, I know you painted those bags on the back of the door…right? Did I miss that post? Your foyer is so clean and crisp, just like I would imagine it would be. Really pretty. And love that painting you did…I’m all about creating a bit of art when it is needed.
    Have a great weekend.

Lol, you know me well, but actually those were a present from my sister in law for us for the beach and I love them, they are perfect and so pretty, hey? But you know, here they sell them without anything on them, so I could make one like that and apply a stencil or something. You gave me an idea! The painting was really fun, Jelica has a great tutorial for it. Thanks Lynn, enjoy your Saturday!

Katrin, I love your style, it’s so fresh and breezy. Your home is a joy. It is beautiful but all the white space gives you room to breathe and take in each little thing! What a great idea to hang the summer hats, I love the way they look on the wall. And so easy to remember to grab one on the way out the door!

Summer hats are so well, summerly, right? I don’t know, they have something, some beach and cottage vibe that I just love. And now I have that in my entrance. And such little effort to get it. It was a quick deco, my favourite! Thanks friend!

I love your entry way Katrin. I have also seen Jelica’s tutorial. I think you did an awesome job. It does look like sea waves and perfect decor for the summertime. I also enjoy using hats as a wall display, they add so much texture to a room, especially the summer hats.
