3 Cute Ways To Plant Succulents

Today I want to show you 3 cute ways to plant succulents! I am loving these tiny, cute, easy-going plants so much! Probably because they are the only plants I am managing to care for successfully. I planted some last year in this DIY pallet planter and they expanded quickly, so I had to look for new spots for them. I brought some inside, because they just make for such cute decor! Last week I posted one planter already, but today I just thought I share my little succulent window nook with you and two more ideas to uniquely plant these cuties.

3 Cute Ways To Plant Succulents

Succulents need very little water, so drainage is important.

I added a drainage layer by putting little rocks to the bottom of each planter before adding soil. Adding a drainage layer allows excess water to get out of the soil more quickly and away from roots before they can be damaged. Though the water is still in the pot, the drainage layer provides a barrier between too much water and your plant.

2. Mug Planter

All you need are cute mugs! I used these mugs my sister in law made a few years ago. They were used as mugs, but I think they are too pretty to be in a cupboard “only” to sip coffee from.

3. Bundt Pan Planter

Use your old or new bundt pans, mine was used like this before. It was stored away for most of the time after that and has a cute vintage look now.

I use faux succulents on my tablescapes and it never occurred to me to plant real ones. Love the idea and the containers. Thank you for sharing with us this week at Celebrate Your Story and we hope you will join us again next week.

I love the faux ones too, even easier, haha. But I really have come to love the real ones as well, they are so forgiving and just lovely. Thank you Sandra!

These are beautiful ideas, Katrin! My favorite is the the cake tin. I don’t have such a tin one but I could use my vintage cast-iron baking pans to plant succulents.

Katrin these are so adorable. Why they could be your pets they are so cute. I really like the idea of planting them in a cup and boy do I have a lot of cups to use up. Some of them were here from before we moved to Greece. My dad keeps everything!

Succulents are such rewarding little plants and I absolutely love the idea of the bundt planter Katrin. That one looks like a fairy garden just waiting to happen and you know me and fairy gardens 😉 I’ve got to try find one of those thingies to play around with.
