May Flowers Home & Garden Tour

Here in the South of Spain we always have a mild climate, although this time of year, it’s changing a lot and we do get some rain showers thankfully as well. But it’s mostly sunny, so when the thermometer reached the mid twenties a couple of weeks ago, I went into full beach mode! We live right next to the Atlantic, so naturally I couldn’t help but go for some nautical decor and bring the beachy feel indoors!

Starting with my little front porch and entrance area…

This is a perfect hangout spot this time of year when it’s not too hot yet. In the summer I put a big canopy here in the front as it gets too hot to be here otherwise… I simply stacked two pallets and put a cover on top and that’s all! You can find out more about my entrance shoe rack from a pallet here and the makrame plant stand here.

The lavender won’t last long there…but with all that cuteness going on, it’s impossible to get mad 😉

Now into our small entrance….

And into the dining room area…

….which is connected with the living room… I love it light and bright and use a lot of whites as you can see and because it’s almost summer, also some blue tones…

The vases and jars were covered in twine with the same technique I used for the outdoor plant stand, just that I used this minty coloured yute for these.

The jars on the side table are filled with shells and driftwood and I added fairy lights to it all.

Katrin, your home just says come in and relax to me! I love all of the details, the dots on the wall going up the stairs, the liner showing through the glass on the chest and the selections for your table and wall hangings as well as the jars and vases atop the chest. Love it all. The porch, Oh My! I thought that bunny was a statue and was trying to figure out your statement on getting mad about the Lavender…what a great photo you got! Thank you for sharing the heart of your home with us. I can’t even imagine what Spain is like but I would feel so at home in your home.

Katrin – You definitely have created an inviting beach-y feel. I love the picture of the bunny tasting the lavender! I really like how you have incorporated shells in so many ways – it’s my go-to as well for a summertime feel. Your dining room and living room both look so light and airy – thank you so much for sharing them!

The bunny is just too darn cute! I love the light in your home it looks so relaxing. I also agree that this is definitely magazine worthy. The palette bed is so unique as is the centerpiece on the coffee table. Thank you for sharing with us this week at Celebrate Your Story, and I hope your week is going great.

Your home is so bright and fresh. I enjoyed looking at the pictures and seeing all the different DIY projects I have seen you finish since I started following your blog. The blue and white colours are so fresh and nice for summer and fitting since you live near the Atlantic. The bunny is adorable and reminded me this is a post of a home instead of a set up magazine layout. It really is magazine worthy Katrin. Congrats.

Katrin your home is ready for the summertime, forget about spring. We also have about a week of spring and then rush into summer. Nevertheless it is beautiful. The touches of blue here and there create a light and airy nautical balance. I especially like the teal jute you have added to the jars and glassware on top of the cabinet. What a gorgeous vignette. Just a few more weeks and we can go to the beach, although my husband wants to drag me from now.

Your home is the reflection of your wondrous talent and kreativity!! I love the summery coastal touches with the added blue tones. Every room is beautiful and inviting, as is the porch and entry area. I think the bunny is the best greeter too! Thank-you for this delightful tour of your home. P.S. I’m so happy you like it all, Ellen, I can’t wait for summer, it’s so warm here already, so this feels good. Hahaha, the bunny is such a bugger, but too cute to be mad at for too long. Today the lavender looks a lot more trimmed, lol! I will have to put it up higher and put a cactus on that side table, the only plant they leave alone! Thanks for the visit!

It was so fun to look through these photos and see so many of your DIY projects in your space. You have such a knack for creating beautiful vignettes, like the one on your dining table for example. I swoon every time I see that fabulous pallet bed on your porch – I would be a permanent fixture on that during warm sunny days. Thank you for opening your home to us, Katrin!
