DIY outdoor plant stand : the lazy way

Hello guys, how has your weekend been? I’ve been busy ( still… and always, who isn’t right?) with my outdoor space, hanging curtains for shade, getting everything ready and nice for when we have family over this week! I’m showing you today my DIY outdoor plant stand : the lazy way ! You know me…lazy is always a good idea!

And believe me, it doesn’t get lazier than this! Have I said that before? Probably, since I’ve had lazy projects before, but this might be the LAZIEST one yet. I’ve said that before too, haven’t I!

I went on a quick trip to my favourite garden centre here and got two big terracotta pots with their matching plate for underneath.

I quickly painted them in a very light grey.

Then turned them around and put the plates on top of each pot instead of underneath! And I had my very stable, heavy outdoor plant stand or little side table if you wish…

I’ve told you once how our cute but sneaky bunnies love to nibble and eat everything! Well, even though, there aren’t many real plants around here, they will even eat the fake ones, which is not a good thing! So for their own good and for my fake plants, everything has to be up high where they can’t reach it. And with these little lazy plant stands it’s possible to have a pretty patio!

That’s it! I’m so happy with how they turned out and will be showing my patio soon! Thanks for stopping by!

Katrin, I love painting pots and outdoor planters. I thought putting the tray on top to make a plant stand are super creative. Thanks for sharing your project at Your Inspired Design Link Party.

That’s a great idea and when you’re tired of it, you can always use the pot and the saucer to plant something!

Great idea to keep those sneaky little bunnies away. Which reminds me…you ever going to show a photo of the bunnies? And what’s the plant in your pots? Sage?
Enjoy the week with your family.

Hi Lynn, I don’t really know what kind of plant it’s supposed to be, it’s fake from Ikea… I guess it could be sage, hey? Just like how it looks! Thanks for the visit, having family here is awesome! Hugs!

This is such clever idea Katrin. I would never have thought to use something like this as a table or stand. And they look so modern cool too. I can’t believe your silly bunnies actually want to eat the fake plants.
