You know, when you find stuff at the store, buy it, but don’t really know yet what to do with it exactly? Well, that happened the other day, when I picked up these mini baking molds. I liked them from the start and it wasn’t because I wanted to bake with them. I got them and they were just sitting on my desk for a while, and then the other day driving in the car I had the BEST idea of what to do with them!

I made DIY mini baking mold magnets!

                                                          HERE’S WHAT I DID:

~First thing I did, was paint them over with white paint, they were a little too shiny and too new. After that, I sanded them a bit.

                                                                    Before:

~Then, I cut out card stock according to each size of the molds. Before sticking it inside the molds, I used my bird stamps to print on each of them.

~And, finally, I glued a magnet on the back of each one and they were ready to go on the fridge!

This last one was too small for any of my stamps so I doodled a little flower inside…

Do you like them as magnets, or what would you do with them?

  9. Katrin, love these magnets from baking molds!!! They are super cute!! Love the stamps you chose and your doodled one!! The way you refinished them with white paint was a nice way to take away some of that new shine and give them a bit of a worn look!! I’m with Mary, these little tins could work as wall art too. Awesome job!!

    • Thank you Keri! yes, I saw them and really liked them but didn’t know what to do at first. On the wall they’d look cute too, I could imagine that!

  10. Katrin these are so pretty they can stand on their own as artwork. I love how you used the stamps to create these lovely pieces. And the color of the paper is warm and inviting. It’s funny htat you had your epiphany while driving in the car… I also get crazy ideas during the strangest times.
