5 Minute Cake Tin Centerpiece [effortless….literally!]

5 minute cake tin centerpiece kreativk.net

I’m showing you this super easy 5 minute cake tin centerpiece today and I must admit, this wasn’t even planned to go on the blog. In fact I was so busy that I got nothing done for today’s post and at first I thought I would skip one. Then I thought, well, why not share the pretty photos at least and make a post about a 5 minute cake tin centerpiece out of it. It really takes no more than 5 minutes! You’ll see!

My head is spinning with all of the events going on this week: my 12 year old is graduating from elementary { I feel so old! }, my younger daughter’s end of school year party costume, my own end of school year party with my class, and just the normal life going on this week. I mean everyone is going through the same, I’m not complaining, just letting you know, that today’s post is really just a “I don’t know what to post and I haven’t done anything to show” kinda post. Please understand….

So in between all the crazyness of life, we had friends over for a BBQ on saturday and normally I go all out and have the table nicely decorated and all, but I just didn’t feel it this weekend. I did not have it in me. Then, 5 minutes before everyone arrived, I looked at the table and felt so bad with how effortless [not the kind of effortless you want though] it all looked.

What I used:

~round cake tin or bundt pan

~ lavender

~ lemons

So here you go: I grabbed this pretty cake tin I found in our Euro store here a while back. It was sitting on my counter top as a “grab-all-kinda-storage-thing ” and now served as my centerpiece base.

Then I dashed to the backyard to rip off some lavender, sliced a couple of lemons and filled the baking tin with water and just arranged everything in it.

On the table! Done! Me thinking that it could go as a blog post so I should probably take some photos…. Door bell rings! Me exhausted and sweating but happy that at least the table now looked a little bit more inviting! HI everyone, DON’T sit down yet, this might go on the blog, I have to take some quick photos…ย

Now I have to say, it smelled amazing and at one point, I even thought it might work as a natural mosquito repellent. But no, it didn’t. It just looked pretty and smelled amazing. We all ended up using my non-natural mosquito spray, but hey, we still had a great night.ย

Maybe this super last minute table decor even inspired you, in case you go through a non-creative, not-wanting-to-do-anything- kinda mood too one day ๐Ÿ˜‰

If you’re still here after this really effortless blog post today, Thank you for that!!!ย

I hear you Katrin, life is busy and then company is coming and it all just feels like too much. Yet inspite of it we feel the NEED to have a pretty table, a centerpiece and I bet there was dessert too. I think that inner need to make things beautiful is why your home and blog are so pretty. Its just part of who you are. Lovely centerpiece.

This is well deserving of a blog post and I’m happy that you shared it at Celebrate Your Story. I’m been collecting copper molds and this would be perfect for them. Thank you for the inspiration!

Katrin, it sounds like you’re staying busy girl! Congratulations on your daughter’s elementary graduation! I love how you described how you threw the centerpiece together last minute, how funny that you had them wait for a few photos, that’s the blogger’s life isn’t it?! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Well the centerpiece looks lovely!!

I love this idea. It is so simple but very pretty. It’s a good lesson on how if you are clever, you can make something extraordinary by using ordinary things you have around the house.

Hey there stranger! Sounds like life is crazy, but good!! I know you are ready for summer and a little wind down.

And that centerpiece is just about perfect…I know it surely smells good with all that lavender and lemon. And that cake tin is so charming! Just perfect…and isn’t it the case when we don’t think too hard and just ‘throw something together’ that it’s often a winner!?

    Hugs…Lynn

Aww Katrin! You are such a natural at these five minute projects you have no idea how the rest of us mortals have to struggle to come up with them. Your table is beautiful and I’m sure your guests were happy to see such a pretty and pretty smelling centerpiece. Now about you making them wait till you took the photos… hahaha! What can I say, that to me is such a funny image. Btw, you have to have the best dollar store in the world because all I find is cheap things , and I mean really cheap!

Has a lovely feel of holiday: Sunshine, long and warm evenings, baguette, cheese, fruites, glass of wine… Looks great – no matter how “simple” it is – it looks great and that’s important!
    Have a wonderful week,
